We're not lost, Sergeant, We're in … France

Tonight, I sat down for dinner with a handful of veterans of the Anzio beachhead. I’ll be spending a few days with them and hearing, then passing on their stories. Meeting them is almost beyond words. Some of their stories have been bottled up for 69 years and it is a true honor to sit with them. Details to follow….

My father was KIA at Anzio with the 1st Duke of Wellington’s. I should be happy to hear anything that you have to say about Anzio where I have visited many times.

I shall be spending 9 days in Anzio in June accompanied by a by special friend of mine whose father is buried next to mine in the Beachhead cemetery. Keep me in touch with any planned re-union please.
